Why use M&M Piston Valves ?

  • One of the more common applications for M&M Piston Valves is for use with steam, due to the high temperature seals and reliable operation of the valve. M&M Piston Valves are suitable for use with temperatures up to 180 Degrees Centigrade.
  • M&M Piston Valves are ideal for water applications where water-hammer can occur. Certain models of M&M Piston Valve are of a water-hammer free design.
  • M&M Piston Valves are available with hygienic RJT and weld ends making them suitable for use with food applications. In this case, all wetted parts are either 316 stainless steel and PTFE. (also available with flanged connections)
  • M&M Piston Valves are ideal for applications where only a low pilot air pressure is available, some operating as low as 1.8 bar. They are a very effective alternative to an actuated ball valve.
  • An M&M Piston Valve can be used in many applications where a pneumatically actuated ball or globe valve could be used. The Piston Valve is generally less expensive, more compact and faster operating than an actuated valve. M&M Piston Valves are available with stainless steel or bronze bodies, all seals are PTFE and Viton making them suitable for a multitude of applications.
  • Certain models of M&M Piston Valve are suitable for vacuum applications to 10¯²mbar
  • There are also models of M&M Piston Valve suitable for bi-directional flow, ideal in backwash systems or in situations where a system is flushed through to clean the line.
  • If a fail safe position is require, a spring return normally open or normally closed Piston Valve can be used. The spring provides a reliable mechanical failure position when pilot air is removed.
  • M&M Piston Valves are also suitable for the following type of applications:
    • Highly viscous media (up to 600cST)
    • Aggressive media
    • Media with dirt particles
    • High humidty and hazardous applications
    • High ambient temperatures
    • The actuator can be piloted using water or oil if compressed air is not available.,
      (manually operated version also available)
